World’s longest cat, Stewie, passes away at the age of eight in Nevada

The world's longest cat has passed away in Nevada from cancer, marking the end of the feline's record-holding run.
Stewie, a regal-looking gray Maine Coon with long hair, measured a remarkable four feet from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail, and was awarded the Guinness Book of World Records title in 2010.

Unfortunately, Stewie, whose full name is Mymains Stewart Gilligan, passed away on Monday from cancer complications, says the BBC.
An affable beast, Stewie served as a certified therapy animal at senior centers in Reno, Nevada, says the Independent, and also helped to promote animal welfare for the local humane society.
