LOS ANGELES — Warner Bros' released scripts as e-books for the first time ever on Monday, including films such as "Ben Hur" and "Casablanca," BBC News reported

Each e-book retails for $10, and includes rare historical documents from the Warner Bros archives, like “Casablanca” producer Hall Wallis’ production notes, Warner Bros' studio chief Jack Warner’s telegrams and memos, and excerpts from “Ben-Hur” star Charlton Heston’s acting and shooting journals, the Wall Street Journal reported

"People love movies because of the stories they tell," said Thomas Gewecke, President of Warner Bros Digital Distribution, Tech Radar reported. "Now we can give fans rarely seen details of how these stories came together and take their enjoyment of films to a whole new level."

"An American in Paris" and Alfred Hitchcock's "North by Northwest" are also available in e-book format.

“We had been looking at a variety of ideas to leverage some of the assets we had at the studio,” Gewecke told the Journal. “We quickly realized there was all of this new e-book technology that we could use to create an interesting and compelling literary property.”

The release of the "Inside the Script" series comes as software giant Microsoft announced its investment of $300 million into Barnes & Noble’s Nook.
