United Kingdom had its wettest April in over a century

The United Kingdom might be known for its rainy weather, but this April has been unusually wet, even by the UK's standards.
This has been the wettest April in the UK in over a century, BBC News reported. Some areas are experiencing three times their usual amount of rainfall.

The figures show that, up to April 29, an average of 4.8 inches of rain fell this month, almost double the long term average for April of 2.7 inches, the Independent reported.
The news comes as England and Wales are experiencing rainstorms and heavy flooding. A 52-year-old man even died on Saturday after his car submerged in water, the Daily Mail reported.
Last year scientists said that rainstorms and snowstorms have grown stronger across the globe. The scientists linked the extreme storms to man-made global warming, the Associated Press reported last year.
There are currently 36 flood warnings across the UK, the Independent reported today.
