It’s a girl for Bollywood’s top couple!
Mummyji! Indian Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, pictured here at the 162nd Prix de Diane horse racing on June 12, 2011, gave birth to a baby girl Wednesday. The twitterati went wild.
It's a girl! Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, sometimes touted as the most beautiful woman in the world, gave birth to a healthy baby girl Wednesday at Mumbai's Seven Hills Hospital, the Times of India reports.
Famous in her own right as a former Miss World and for films like Devdas, Guru and Dhoom 2, Aishwarya is married to fellow Bollywood actor Abishek Bachchan. Together, they make a power couple on the order of Brangelina, as Abishek is also one of India's top earners, and the son of the Hindi film industry's biggest star of all time, Amitabh Bachchan.
Not surprisingly, the birth of the child Indian media immediately christened "Baby B" (Amitabh is Big B, and Abhishek is Little B) forced the Mumbai hospital to adopt stringent security measures, even for its own staff. The Indian media, under fire lately for being too aggressive, set its own ground rules for covering the event to avoid any Princess Di-like tragedies, or plain old embarrassments. And when Baby B finally made her appearance, the twitterati went wild.
