The three passengers of a 1966 Cessna 172 that crashed on a snowy mountainside in rural Owyhee County, Idaho, on Sunday have been rescued by the Idaho National Guard, the Idaho Statesman reported.
The plane, carrying California fireman Brian Brown, his wife, Jayann Brown, and their 26-year-old daughter, Heather Brown, was flying from Sacramento, Calif., to Mountain Home, Idaho, when it crashed about a mile southeast of Silver City, Idaho, the Idaho Statesman reported.
One of the passengers used a cellphone to call the Owyhee County Sheriff’s Office and report the crash, according to the Idaho Statesman. The passengers suffered lacerations, back and neck injuries and a minor head injury.

A medical helicopter located the crash site Sunday morning, but white-out conditions delayed a rescue until midday, Col. Tim Marsano of the Idaho National Guard said, according to the Associated Press.
However, rescuers on foot arrived at the wreck Sunday morning and kept the family members warm with blankets and a fire until a helicopter was able to lift them out with a hoist, the AP reported.
The three were flown out one at a time and transferred to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where they are in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries, the AP reported.
