Chris Christie, Twinkies don’t agree with each other (VIDEO)

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie wouldn’t bite. Literally, or figuratively.

When asked about Hostess filing for bankruptcy protection, foretelling an end of the iconic Twinkies brand, Christie balked.

“Really, seriously, you’re not asking me about Hostess Twinkies, are you? What’s the next question?” he said in response to a reporter’s question at a Friday press conference.

The governor’s office apparently found enough merit (and humor) in the question, and staff posted video of Christie’s response to his YouTube channel.

“I’m on Saturday Night Live enough,” he continued to laughs. “You think you’re getting me behind this microphone, having me talk about Twinkies? This is a setup.”

Christie is a … rather large man … and he’s not afraid to joke about his battle with the bulge, the New York Daily News reported.

By Saturday afternoon, the video had more than 62,000 views.

Hostess said earlier Friday that failed labor talks would force it to close down and lay off 18,500 employees.

It’s trying to sell its many brands, which also includes Wonder Bread, Ding Dongs, Ho Ho’s and Sno Balls.
