John Varty, a wildlife filmmaker dubbed “Tiger Man,” was seriously injured after being mauled by one of his tigers. He was rushed to a hospital late Wednesday with several puncture wounds and two broken ribs. He joins the every growing list those who misjudged their wild and exotic “pets.”
Some things are inevitable: Tomorrow the sun will rise, Meryl Streep will win another oscar, and a couple of times a year an exotic animal attacks its beloved master. We've all seen the Youtube videos, and we always act surprised. We even feel a little uncomfortable when we laugh (but we do laugh).
