Zambia man bites python that tried to kill him

A man in Zambia saved his life by biting a python that was trying to crush him to death.

Kelvin Katoka, a 25-year-old digger operator at a mine in northern Zambia, was latched onto by the giant snake during a break at work.

He only noticed the snake after it had wrapped round his leg up to his knee.

"Within no time, the python was all over my body and it then threw me on the ground," he told AFP.

Katoka said that he bit and stabbed the python but the animal would not let go.

"I started vomiting blood and I lost vision of what was happening and that was how I became unconscious," he continued.

"It then coiled itself round my body to the extent that people could not see anything else apart from the python itself."

Lucky for him two colleagues eventually were able to kill the snake before it could kill him.

The event happened a month again but the man is still in hospital recovering.
