SpaceX Dragon capsule to stay at International Space Station longer

The SpaceX Dragon capsule will stay at the International Space Station one more day NASA said Saturday.

The capsule will depart for Earth Tuesday due to poor weather conditions in Baja, Calif. where it is scheduled to touch down.

It will depart at 7:06 am local time.

NASA has said that the delay will not affect the cargo and equipment onboard the capsule.

The capsule arrived at the space station on March 1 to bring supplies to the astronauts who are stationed there.

The capsule experienced thruster issues when it took off from Florida but was eventually sucessful in reaching the ISS.

It is the capsule's second journey to the space station.

SpaceX, a private company that is on contract with NASA, is a space transport company co-founded by tech entrepreneur Elon Musk.

It is helping lead the way in the privatization of space travel.
