See this stunning footage taken by a pelican with a GoPro strapped to his bill

Four months ago, when a powerful storm swept over Lake Tanganyika in Africa, a young pelican got separated from his flock.

Now, there are few things sadder than a baby animal losing his way, but fear not, this story has a happy ending. 

After the storm passed, the staff of a nearby resort in Tanzania, called Greystoke Mahale, found the then-unnamed pelican and nursed him back to health. They called him "Big Bird" for obvious reasons.

The staff gave him flying lessons, running alongside him on the beach and flapping their arms like big birds themselves. Someone had the genius idea to strap a GoPro camera to his bill.
