Royal Caribbean cruise struck with norovirus, over 100 sick
A Royal Caribbean cruise ship was docked Sunday morning in Port Everglades, Fla. to be sanitized after 108 people were stricken with the norovirus.
The norovirus has struck again.
This time a Royal Caribbean cruise on the Vision of the Seas ship saw about 108 people fall ill this week.
The ship docked Sunday morning in Port Everglades, Fla. to be sanitized and have victims treated.
Bloomberg said the ship saw about 5 percent of the 1,991 passengers and 772 crew members fall ill.
The 915-foot ship Vision left Port Everglades, Fla., on February 25 on an 11-day tour that includes stops at Barbados, Grenada, and Aruba, said Go-Jamaica.

The new strain of the norovirus was discovered in Australia a year ago.
About one million people have fallen ill from the virus since then.
The sickness has run rampant in cruise ships – 16 outbreaks in the US alone – and nursing homes.
The highly contagious virus is spread by food, water, air and through touching surfaces infected with the virus and then touching the face, said Food Poisoning Bulletin.
It causes inflammation in the intestines and stomach causing severe diarrhea and vomiting.
