Austrian physicist Erwin Schrodinger honored with Google Doodle

The late Austrian physicist and Nobel Prize winner Erwin Schrodinger was honored with a Google Doodle on Monday, which would have marked his 126th birthday.

Long before Internet videos featuring cats became popular, Schrodinger was using the furry animals to explain quantum mechanics and how they related to everyday objects.

His famous thought experiment featuring a feline is now known as “Schrodinger’s Cat.”

This short video explains everything you need to know about his theory.

Schrodinger, a contemporary of another famous physicist Albert Einstein, was born in Vienna in 1887.

He died in 1961 from turberculosis.
