The New York Times reports that the Obama Administration is considering whether to speed up the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan by at least 20,000 additional troops by next year. The Times says it’s an idea that the White House has been discussing for awhile, but that the situation in Afghanistan appears to be unravelling faster than anyone expected.
