A special envoy for the UN and the Arab League, led by Kofi Annan, has left Syria empty-handed. Although Annan met twice with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus over the weekend, they could not agree on a cease-fire. In the meantime, even more killings are reported in Syria. One activist group says 45 people, including children, were killed in the city of Homs last night.
