The protests throughout the Middle East were famously started when a food vendor set himself on fire after a conflict with authorities. Globally, the rising price of food is creating conflicts. Countries with money to spend are buying up land in poorer countries as places to grow food to feed their citizens. Lester Brown, founder and president of the Earth Policy Institute talks with The Takeaway about how food prices are affecting global political stability.
