Outrage Over Soldiers Killed in Central African Republic

Marco Werman speaks with The World's Carol Hills about an incident that's showing up in a lot of South African political cartoons.

Thirteen South African soldiers died on March 23rd in Central African Republic as they engaged rebels there who were advancing on the capital, Bangui, to oust the president.

The question many South Africans have is what South African soldiers were doing in the Central African Republic in the first place? President Jacob Zuma says they were there as part of a defense agreement signed with Central African Republic in 2007 but another South African government official said, "We have assets [in the CAR] that need protection."
