Sergio Marchionne is the man at the helm of Fiat and Chrysler.
The Italian-born CEO made a statement Wednesday that sent shock waves through the auto industry.
He announced that Chrysler would not recall 2.7 million older model Jeep vehicles.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration requested the recall after an investigation of the vehicles’ fuel tanks.
