A new survey conducted by the BBC is calling into question old notions of class structure in Britain. Instead of the just the traditional three classes – upper, middle and working – sociologists say that it’s now more accurate to speak of seven different classes.

To get a better idea of how class has been traditionally viewed in Britain, I recommend this comedy sketch from the 1960s. And yes, it stars John Cleese of Monty Python fame.
