Today, the Golden Spike Company is announcing their plans to become the first commercial enterprise to undertake a private flight to the moon. Doug Griffith, co-founder and member of Golden Spike’s Board of Directors, discusses his company’s vision.
“We are ready to send people to the moon within the next eight years,” Griffith says.
Golden Spike isn’t competing with NASA, Griffith explains. “NASA has always set its sights on bigger things,” he says. “They’ve landed people on the moon; they’re going to be focusing on asteroids [and] Mars…so what we’re doing is very complimentary.”
