The decades-old US embargo against Cuba prevents Americans from going there as a simple tourists. You need a special license from the Treasury Department. That’s why some were surprised to see two very high-profile Americans looking a lot like tourists in Havana recently. Jay-Z and Beyoncé celebrated their fifth anniversary during a four-day stay in Cuba. Their much-publicized trip was immediately criticized by Cuban-American politicians.
