In 1974 when British Cypriot Costa Thomas was 9-years-old he fled with his family during the Turkish invasion. He left Cyprus in his flip-flops and landed in England with nothing.
But in 2008 as the financial crisis was unfolding in England, Thomas saw opportunity back in his native Cyprus. He packed up his family, sold his fish and chip restaurants, and retired to Limassol and opened a restaurant there.
Today Thomas faces losing everything again.
Anchor Marco Werman speaks with Thomas about how this crisis is affecting his restaurant, his family, and his financial future.
