Reflecting the contentious debate among the U.S. and its allies in the military intervention in Libya, Takeaway listeners are divided on whether the U.S. should arm the anti-Gadafi rebels. (Check out some of their responses after the jump.) Walter from Detroit is wants more information on the Libyan rebels:
“There’s a lot of talk of arming the people in the uprising in Libya. My question is who are these people that are rebelling against Gadhafi that we’re going to arm? I still haven’t heard any of the leaders of our country saying exactly who these people are.”
Bruce from Marblehead, Massachusetts is skeptical about the purpose of U.S. mission:
“Libya: when will we ever learn? I never believed the humanitarian fig leaf. It’s always regime change. How much is it going to cost? Phooey on the whole thing.”
