What’s in the small business bill?

The World

The small business bill championed by President Obama and Democratic legislators is — after months of languishing in the Senate — moving through Congress. Expected to be easily passed by the House, the aid package includes $12 billion in tax breaks as well as $30 billion in government-backed loans for small businesses. Proponents estimate it may create as many as 500,000 jobs.

Democrats and the two GOP Senators who joined them for the 61-39 vote say the bill could create thousands of jobs… but how? We take a closer look at the bill with Takeaway Washington correspondent Todd Zwillich. Also, for a view of what small business owners are saying about the bill, we speak to Walt Rowen, owner of Susquehanna Glass in Columbia, Pennsylvania. He tells us more about how the bill might affect him.
