This Week’s Agenda: Unions, the Arab World and the ‘Groupon Effect’

Last week, Egypt and President Obama’s 2012 budget proposal held our attention. This week, ongoing upheaval in the Arab World, public sector unions and what Reuters Global Editor-at-Large Chrystia Freeland calls “the Groupon effect” promise to be on our monitors and TV screens. Political uprisings continue this week throughout the Middle East, with more protests planned in Algeria, Bahrain, Yemen, Iran and Libya. Meanwhile, a judicial council in Egypt says they are nearly done rewriting the country’s constitution, which they were given ten days to draw up.
