This Week’s Agenda: Mladic, Unemployment, Libya

The Takeaway

The arrest of former Bosnian Serb General Ratko Mladic has caught the attention of most Europeans, who are waiting to see if he will be extradited to the Hague to face charges of genocide. Marcus Mabry, editor-at-large of the International Herald Tribune, the international edition of The New York Times, believes this is a test for Serbia and their commitment to the International War Crimes Tribunal. May’s unemployment numbers will be released later this week, and things are not looking good. Louise Story, Wall Street and finance reporter for The New York Times, says unemployment will remain stubbornly high.  Mabry  is also looking at what will transpire in Libya, as South African President Jacob Zuma will arrive in Tripoli today to call for a halt in the bloodshed.  And Story is looking at the increased scrutiny over AT&T’s buyout of T-Mobile.
