The World

The participants in DOROT’s annual Passover Seders ask the four questions, sing traditional songs, list off the ten plagues, and pray. They do everything that one would expect to do at a Seder, only they do it while each participant is still in his or her own home.

For nearly twenty years, the DOROT phone Seders have connected the elderly, blind, chronically ill, and their caregivers ? many of whom are Holocaust survivors ? in what might be their only holiday celebrations of the season.

Judy Ribnick, who leads many of the Seders and serves as DOROT’s Director of Community Services shares sounds and stories from this year’s Passover phone gatherings.
