Overnight Wednesday, an estimated 1,200 police officers moved on the Occupy Los Angeles encampment, clearing protesters and dismantling their camp near City Hall. More than 200 people were arrested, though no major clashes with police were reported. Police in Philadelphia also faced little resistance when they evicted Occupy protesters from a camp there. Occupy L.A.’s encampment was one of the largest still remaining in the country. Frank Stoltze, reporter for KPCC, reports live from near the former camp.
