At the Conference on World Affairs in Denver, we caught up with Claire Geison, executive director of the National Women’s Political Caucus. She talks to us about her frustrations with the health care bill.
Although the bill has many elements which are good for women, she says the administration “threw us under the bus” when they allowed the Hyde amendment and the Stupak amendment. She argues that these restrictions on abortion rights mean that women’s groups will now ask for stronger legislation for women going forward.
