Let’s go back fifty years. Imagine a trip to Havana, Cuba. Author Peter Moruzzi takes us there.
That’s Peter Moruzzi reading from his new book “Havana Before Castro: When Cuba was a Tropical Playground.”
It depicts a time — before Fidel Castro’s Revolution, and before the U.S. embargo against Cuba — when Havana was a top destination for Americans.
If you want to kick back this holiday season with a tropical cocktail from Havana then may I recommend to you the La Floridita Daiquiri.
You take 1 ounce fresh lime juice.
1/4 ounce sugar syrup
1/4 ounce Maraschino liqueur
1 3/4 ounces white rum
Shake well with a generous scoop of crushed ice.
Strain into a pre-chilled cocktail glass.
