The World

Look up into the sky for today’s Geo Quiz. The American city we’re looking for today has a connection to a celestial phenomenon.

It’s a kind of cloud formation that doesn’t yet have an official name.

It resembles the turbulent surface of the ocean — as seen from below.

This kind of cloud formation was first identified by sky gazers in this Midwestern US city.

Now, some cloud aficionados are petitioning the UN’s “World Meteorological Organization” for official recognition. If their petition is successful — the second largest city in the state of Iowa could have a new claim to fame.

That’s besides straddling the Cedar River, and being known as the “city of five seasons.”

Name the city — we’ll name the clouds — when we come back with the answer in a few minutes.
