Today marks the 50th anniversary of the failed Tibetan uprising against Chinese rule that sent the Dalai Lama into exile. The World’s Mary Kay Magistad reports from Beijing that Chinese troops are out in force to prevent what happened on last year’s anniversary. Protests marking the anniversary grew violent and spread to Tibetan areas across China.
