In My Experience: Grace Lee Boggs on Activism at 95

The Takeaway

We’re kicking off a new series of discussions on The Takeaway called “In My Experience.” We’ll be talking with  older Americans who are long past retirement age, yet  are nonetheless still looking to change how we live and work in this country. Philosopher and civil rights reformer  Grace Lee Boggs  joins us for the  inaugural  edition. At 95 years old, Boggs has spent most of her life fighting social and economic injustice alongside famous activists like Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. Today, she is still active in the social justice movement in her adopted hometown of Detroit, Michigan –  even though she’s in her tenth decade of life. She’s also the author of a new book, “The Next American Revolution: Sustainable Activism for the 21st Century.”
