This years marks the 800th anniversary of the birth of the Persian poet, Rumi. A new book of his poems has been translated by American poet Coleman Barks…and music inspired by Rumi’s work has been recorded by two Iranian musicians. Anchor Lisa Mullins speaks with the American poet and the Iranian composer about the influence of Rumi’s poetry.
