Who says you have to be Christian to celebrate Christmas in America? Since most everyone has the day off on December 25th, refugee communities often come together and create their own holiday traditions.

This week, Muslims around the globe marked the end of Ramadan and the start of the Eid holiday. And to celebrate, we connected with a London-based Afghan musical group called the Pashtu Cultural Academy.

The Juneteenth holiday marks the day slavery came to an end in the United States: June 19, 1865. Though 41 states recognize Juneteenth as a state holiday, Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison has introduced legislation to make it a national day of observance.
