Yep, this country may have a rep for non-violence, spirituality and tranquil meditation, but nearly a quarter of Indian men have committed some type of sexual violence in their lives and a fifth have forced their wives or girlfriends to have sex, found a research project conducted by the International Centre for Research on Women in six developing countries.
In contrast, only 2% of Brazilian males and fewer than 9% of men in Chile, Croatia, Mexico and Rwanda were found to have indulged in sexual violence, the paper reports.
