The British royal wedding was weeks ago, and much has happened around the world since.
The leader of Al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, was found and killed. The head of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, was accused of sexually assaulting a hotel maid and resigned. The Arab world continues to face upheaval. Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted to fathering a child with another woman.
But have no fear, the royal wedding has not gone away.
Sister-of-the-bride Pippa Middleton (and her backside) continues to impress. The top-secret royal honeymoon continues to intrigue. And that large and rather outlandish hat worn by Princess Beatrice continues to shock.
Prince Beatrice's ring-and-bow shaped hat has been an Internet sensation since the April 29 wedding. Created by Philip Treacy, the hat has been compared to everything from a toilet to a pretzel.
And now, eBay says that bids for the hat have approached 18,400 pounds ($30,000), the Associated Press reports.
The princess, a cousin of Prince William, reportedly said she hopes whoever buys the hat has ""as much fun with it as I have." She will give proceeds from the hat's sale to charity.
You have until May 22 to participate in the auction.
Of course, that will be after Harold Camping's "Judgment Day," so none of this might matter.
