India actually saved, not cost, US jobs

Indian companies helped save thousands of jobs in the US through acquisitions of American companies, India's Economic Times cites a survey by the Confederation of Indian Industry as saying.

According to the suvey, which tracked 35 Indian companies with operations in the US, Indian-owned firms employ more than 60,000 people in America – most of them US citizens, the paper said.

Indian acquisitions of US firms helped save some 2,500 American jobs in pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, healthcare, energy, iron & steel and information technology over the past five years, the survey found.
