The Los Angeles Fire Department is investigating how fire trucks from fire stations in Venice and Hollywood ended up in two recent porn films.
In one of the movies, an actress climbs onto a fire engine from Station 63 in Venice and exposes herself, according to NBC4 LA, which broke the story.
The trucks’ appearance in these films violates department policy, MSNBC reports:
Department policy says “apparatus … shall be kept in sight at all times” by firefighters assigned to it. The policy also says LAFD employees must “operate apparatus in a way that does not compromise the reputation of the department.”
Capt. Jaime Moore, a department spokesman, said that the Professional Standards Division is trying to determine to what extent fire personnel had knowledge of the shoots and whether any firefighters participated, the L.A. Times reports. He added that the fire department's new chief, Brian Cummings, is "adamant that he's not going to tolerate this kind of stuff."
NBC4 LA claims that firefighters helped to set up the Venice shoot and even appeared in the video, in the crowd of men watching the porn actress on the fire truck.
This is the second time this year that city employees have been busted for getting involved with porn movies while on duty, MSNBC reports. In April, officials learned that two L.A. traffic cops had appeared in an adult film while on duty and in uniform. One officer was fired, the other disciplined and Parking Enforcement Chief Jimmy Price retired two years ahead of schedule as a result of the city investigation, MSNBC reports.
