Earthquake hits northern Argentina

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake hit northern Argentina this morning, but there were no immediate reports of serious injury or damage.

The earthquake struck at a relatively shallow depth of 9.6 kilometers, reported La Nacion.

The epicenter was in the provinces of Salta and Jujuy. Schools and universities were evacuated in the city of Salta.
