Woman joins search for missing person. Finds herself.

GlobalPost

Tourists and police on Saturday near Iceland's Eldgjá volcanic canyon spent hours searching for a woman described as "Asian, about 160cm, in dark clothing and speaks English well," the Reykjavik Grapevine reported.

They found her in the search party.

An Icelandic website, mbl, said the unnamed woman had gotten off a tour bus, but never got back on. The bus driver waited for an hour and then left the area.

According to the Toronto Sun, "About 50 people searched the terrain by vehicles and on foot. The coast guard was even readying a helicopter to help."

Then, miraculously, an Asian woman in the search party who is about 160cm and speaks English very well found the missing person. Yes, she found herself, literally. Perhaps metaphorically.

Apparently the woman changed clothes while on the tour and no one recognized her when she got back on the bus.

But still…

Maybe the tour bus was full of short Asian women. Or maybe it was full of sensitive people who didn't want to seem bigoted by asking the Asian woman, "Excuse me, Miss, do you know this woman?"

The search ended at 3 a.m. on Sunday.
