Ted Nugent claims Secret Service has given him the all-clear

After meeting with the US Secret Service today, far-right rocker Ted Nugent said in a statement on his website this afternoon that he had been given the all-clear.

The Secret Service were due to pay a visit to Nugent after remarks on Saturday during a National Rifle Association convention at which he said President Obama’s reaction would result either in Nugent’s death or incarceration and exhorted listeners to ride into battle and “chop their heads off.”

There was no immediate word on how the Secret Service characterized the meeting but Nugent said he did not use his words literally.

“By no stretch of the imagination did I threaten anyone’s life, or hint at violence or mayhem,” Nugent said in his statement.

“I met with two fine, professional Secret Service agents in OK today. Good, solid, professional meeting concluding that I have never made any threats of violence towards anyone. The meeting could not have gone better.”

Nugent likewise said his remarks were “metaphors” and that such things “needn’t be explained to educated people.”

According to The Daily Beast, Nugent does not only dislike Obama but also has a history of using the n-word in reference to blacks.

A 2010 concert in Dubuque, Iowa, Nugent reportedly said: “There’s a lot of white people in this crowd. I like that,” according to Media Matters.
