Slice of Will and Kate’s royal wedding cake is up for auction
The price includes more than just a slice of cake. There’s also this snazzy tin box.
At least one enterprising wedding guest at Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding last year must have been planning a head.
A slice of the royal couple's wedding cake has turned up for sale on pfcauctions.com.
The bidding already is above $1,700, and the auction doesn't close until later this month. A printed note from the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall and a program from the couple's wedding is included in the price.
The bidding started at $160.
PFC auctions believes the cake is the first slice to make it to auction from the royal wedding in April 2011.
The seller's identity hasn't been disclosed, but each of the 650 guests at Will and Kate's Westminster Abbey wedding received a commemorative tin containing a slice of the royal couple's multi-tiered fruit cake designed by the legendary Fiona Cairns.
A slice of cake from Prince William's father Prince Charles' wedding to Princess Diana fetched $1,830 at an auction in 2008, ABC said.
