Ronaldo’s smashed Ferrari to be auctioned on eBay

Cristiano Ronaldo's smashed Ferrari was put up for sale on eBay this week.

Ronaldo crashed the car on a Manchester, UK highway in 2009, reported the Herald Sun.

The damaged Ferrari was bought by a garage owner in the French city of Strasbourg from a Portuguese vendor for 33,000 euros.

The car was originally put up on eBay by the new owner Renaud Bettcher but was taken down by the eBay, which demanded more proof of the provenance of the vehicle, reported AFP.

The auction site gave the go-ahead this week after receiving new documents.

Ebay may have to pay up to 20,000 euros in damages for withdrawing the advertisement.

Bettcher was looking to sell the red Ferrari 599 GTB for 50,000 euros before the post was taken down.

Bids had apparently reached 125,000 euros when eBay intervened, said AFP.
