US President Barack Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney shake hands following the second presidential debate at the David Mack Center at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, October 16, 2012.
President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney are tied among likely voters with 47 percent support, according to a NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released Sunday.
The poll surveyed 1,816 voters (1,000 registered voters and 816 likely voters) after the second presidential debate from Wednesday to Saturday.
This latest poll suggests Romney gained ground. The Wall Street Journal called it, "A late surge in support for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney." The last NBC/WSJ poll put Obama 3 points ahead of Romney.
The polls margin of error is a little over 3 percent.
Real Clear Politics also reports Obama and Romney tied at 47 percent.
The Huffington Post reports Obama still enjoys a lead among registered voters, with "49 percent supporting him and 44 percent supporting Romney."
