Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II gate-crashed a wedding in Manchester today, surprising bride and groom Frances and John Canning as they were married, according to The Sun.
The newspaper said the Queen and Prince Philip posed for wedding photographs as the Queen had been having lunch with 200 volunteers in an adjacent room at the Town Hall.

Frances, 44, a hairdresser from nearby Prestwich, was quoted as saying: "The Queen spoke to us by our first names. She said I looked lovely and she wanted to wish us all the best for the future. It was very special — it was so lovely that she took the trouble to speak to us."
According to the Royal Palace, the Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh “carried out engagements in Greater Manchester including the opening of MediaCityUK, as part of Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.”
According to The Associated Press, the Queen visited a number of local sites, including a new BBC building in Salford.
