Obama adviser says Romney campaign “full of distortions and dishonesty”

It was a relatively quiet Sunday on the campaign trail with the President's campaign adviser taking to the political talk shows to defend her boss.

Obama's deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter went on the offensive against the presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney, charging him with running a campaign filled with negativity and devoid of an economic plan.

"Mitt Romney went to a plant that closed under George Bush, and he tried to blame Barack Obama," Cutter said on CBS' Face the Nation.

Last week, Romney spoke at the National Gypsum plant in Lorain, Ohio, which closed in 2008 and said "had the president's economic plans worked… it would have been open by now . . . But it is still empty."

Cutter said "he had a speech full of distortions and dishonesty."

Meanwhile, speculation continues over who Romney will pick as his running mate.

On Monday, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida who has the backing from tea party supporters and conservatives is scheduled to campaign with Romney outside Philadelphia, according to CNN.

Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants is thought to be under consideration for Vice President.
