Miley Cyrus gets 3 year restraining order against stalker, Jason Luis Rivera

GlobalPost

The armed man who tried to break into Miley Cyrus' Los Angeles mansion has been ordered to stay away from the pop star for the next 3 years.

TMZ reported a court today banned Jason Luis Rivera, 40, from approaching the singer. The new restraining order states that he must stay at least 1,000 yards away from the 19-year-old at all times.

Rivera was arrested at the celebrity's home in September, and convicted and jailed for trespassing, but Cyrus took further legal steps to protect herself when he is released next year.

The Huffington Post reported Rivera was carrying a pair of scissors when he climbed over the fence of her gated property in Los Angeles and started banging on the door.

According to the police report, he told officers at the scene: “I am friends with Miley Cyrus….She’s my wife. Me and Miley have been friends for five years."
