Love Flood: romantic comedy amid Thailand’s flooding crisis

Well, that was quick.

Thailand's prolific romantic comedy industry has already churned out "Love Flood," a cheesy romp filmed amid Thailand's devastating 2011 floods.

Blogger and Thai film afficianado Wise Kwai has details on the filming and the plot, which he describes as two guys "volunteering to help flood victims in order to meet women." (That premise, if executed well, could be darkly hilarious. But the Benny Hill sound effects in the trailer for "Love Flood" don't offer much hope.)

While reporting in Bangkok's deluged outskirts late last year, I saw people sloshing through filthy waters and praying their home wouldn't collapse.

But not much falling in love.
