London Olympic bus kills cyclist

An Olympic media bus struck and killed a cyclist in London on Wednesday. An AFP reporter witnessed the gruesome aftermath. The reporter saw a man's legs protruding out from under the huge bus, on a road outside the Olympic park.
Police and an air ambulance came to the scene after the crash and soon pronounced the cyclist dead. The driver, in his mid-60s, was then arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, BBC News reported.

The bus driver was later released on bail, the Associated Press reported. The victim has been identified as a 28-year-old man named Daniel Harris.
The double-decker bus had been carrying journalists covering the Olympics. After the crash on Wednesday, journalists were told that all media shuttle buses would be suspended for the rest of the night, the Wall Street Journal reported. "The police are investigating the accident, and our thoughts are with the cyclist's family," the London Olympic organizing committee said in a statement to the WSJ.
