James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 is up for sale

James Bond's famous 1965 Aston Martin DB5 is up for sale.

The price? A cool $4.5 million.

The car is being sold by Swiss billionaire Thomas Straumann whose family made their money in dental implants, said The Age.

Straumann bought the car in 2006 for $2.7 million.

The New York Times said that the price paid for the car pushed up the value massively of old Aston Martins, even those not involved in the film.

It is said that 3000 hours of labor were put into the car for restoration.

The DB5 was used both in the movie Goldfinger and Thunderball.

It's kept its famous licence plate JB007 and even its hidden machine guns behind the headlights – it's unclear if they actually work.

Apparently, Straumann kept everything but the ejector seat.
